The adventure begins at the Golf Clubhouse in Arelauquen. Arelauquen is the most beautiful and exclusive gated community in Bariloche. At the Clubhouse, with its mountain views, we’ll welcome you and share the details of what the experience will be like.
Our destination is the South Summit of Cerro Otto, located within a nature reserve in Arelauquen. It is, without a doubt, the viewpoint with the best panorama in all of Bariloche, offering an unparalleled view of the lakes and mountains that will leave you breathless.
Yes, we pick up passengers from centrally located hotels and along the main avenues: Mitre, Moreno, San Martín, Elflein, 12 de Octubre, Av. Pioneros, and Av. Bustillo up to km 25 (Hotel Llao Llao). Our meeting point in the Cerro Catedral area is in front of Posada Aurelio / Restaurante El Camino.
The experience begins at the Arelauquen Golf Clubhouse; parking is available on-site if you wish to drive. However, please note that the tour includes alcoholic beverages and that access can be difficult during the winter due to snow and ice. For your safety and convenience, we recommend using the included shuttle service.
The journey combines two modes of transport: first, we travel for approximately 10 minutes in Land Rover Defender 4×4 vehicles, and then we continue with 15 minutes each way by snowmobile (uphill and downhill). Ascent and descent times are subject to weather and operational factors and may vary.
There are always two people per snowmobile. Participants can take turns driving; for example, one person goes uphill and the other downhill. In groups with an odd number of members, the person left alone can share the snowmobile with another participant or ride with one of our guides.
If you want an exclusive motorcycle, you must pay the price of 2 participants.
Motorcycle riding is permitted for participants over 18 years of age. For the safety and comfort of senior citizens, we recommend that they travel as passengers with one of our guides.
Notice: It is important to note that it is the sole prerogative of the guides to decide whether a passenger is fit to drive; if the guide considers that the necessary safety conditions are not met, the passenger will not be allowed to drive.
No, the service does NOT include snow gear. It is essential that you bring your own waterproof equipment: jacket, pants, gloves, hat, and non-slip waterproof footwear. We recommend dressing in layers to comfortably enjoy the ascent/descent and also lunch or dinner.
Helmets: We provide helmets, but you can bring your own if you prefer. We don’t provide goggles; they are optional and you can bring your own.
Attention: Please take care of your belongings and check your personal items at all times, as El Refugio is not responsible for lost and/or forgotten items.
Yes, seniors can participate in the tour. Please note that in winter the only access is by snowmobile, which involves going up and down. We suggest considering your personal mobility, as you will need to get in and out of the 4×4 Land Rovers, walk on snow, and use steps at the refuge. We recommend traveling on a snowmobile driven by our guides to ensure your safety.
Yes, you can participate in the experience. It’s important to remember that in winter the only way to access El Refugio is by motorcycle. We have no age restrictions; children of any age can enjoy the outing with their families. Please note that in winter the only way to access the area is by snowmobile (up and down); we do not have any other vehicles. There are rules depending on the children’s ages:
